ROCK BOTTOM RESTAURANTS, INC. TO HOST 3RD ANNUAL MIRACLE IN THE DESERT AT ROCK BOTTOM RESTAURANT AND BREWERY AHWATUKEE CHRISTMAS DAY EVENT WILL FEED & CLOTHE MORE THAN 800 PHOENIX AREA HOMELESS AND DISPLACED PERSONS
PHOENIX – DEC. 15, 2005 – For the third consecutive year, Rock Bottom Restaurants, Inc. will host the Miracle in the Desert at Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery at 14205 S 50th in Ahwatukee. The annual event will provide 800 area homeless and displaced men, women and children with a day of dignity, complete with a hot holiday meal, warm clothes, access to phones and long-distance calling and essential toiletry items. All participating children will receive new toys, a new coat and shoes.
“Over the past three years, this event has become a Rock Bottom tradition," said Dawn Fabian, field marketing manager. “It’s an honor to host the clients of St Vincent de Paul and C.A.S.S. ( Central Arizona Shelter Services) area shelters and provide a little holiday spirit to those who deserve it most."
The holiday meal will consist of all the traditional dishes including, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables and pies. The Miracle event will provide luxury bus rides for all participants to and from the restaurant. The event is made possible by the generosity of Shamrock Foods, Lund Mortgage and American Explorer. In addition numerous community sponsors include: The Ahwatukee Foothills News, Fast Signs on Bell, Waymar Material and Handling and Remax Professionals; The Anna Kuttner Team to mention a few.
“We are staging 12 miracle events across the country. These events are truly the bricks and mortar that make up the Rock Bottom Foundation." said Jessica Newman, Executive Director. “They encompass our mission of giving back and volunteerism to the fullest and give all involved the heart-warming knowledge that they put personal needs aside to help those in need on a very important day."
