Phoenix - What do Kobe Bryant, Andy Roddick, Tom Brady and Kevin Nee all have in common? They all made the list of the “Top 25 Fittest Men in the World” in Men’s Fitness Magazine’s June/July 2007 edition.
At 21 years of age, local resident Kevin Nee is a top-ranked competitor in the World's Strongest Man (WSM) competition. He’s the youngest ever to compete in the event, and three-time WSM champion Marius Pudzianowski has referred to him as “the Next.”
Nee is a passionate adventure athlete whose remarkable accomplishments have been featured on ESPN, Fox Sports Net, MTV and other networks. On top of his recent article in Men’s Fitness, he has been featured in national and international periodicals including Sports Illustrated, The Boston Globe and Kulturystyka, a Polish fitness magazine.
Nee’s future in the strongman world looks bright as he is considered one of America’s best deadlifters at 865 pounds. As he prepares for the 2007 World’s Strongest Man competition, the premier event in strength athletics for nearly 30 years, Nee makes appearances nationally as well as globally. Upcoming shows include Venice Beach on June 16, Norway on July 7, England on July 21, Russia on July 28 and Vietnam later this summer.
Nee was born in Hopedale, Mass., and currently resides and trains in the Phoenix area. He has a degree from Arizona State University in supply chain management and is involved in the development of a signature line of equipment and apparel for strength athletes.
As one of the “Top 25 Fittest Men in the World” as featured in Men’s Fitness, Nee is an example for all athletes. The list is comprised of men who over the past year have “harnessed the physical, mental and spiritual stamina needed to beat the odds, overcome obstacles, school their rivals and set personal bests to elevate their game to the next level,” according to the article.
