'CREATIVE CONNECTIONS' MULTI-MEDIA DANCE PERFORMANCE TO BE HELD MAY 12, 2007


EVENT AT SCOTTSDALE CENTER FOR THE ARTS FEATURES MOVEMENT SOURCE AND FOOT KLAN

NEW YORK CHOREOGRAPHERS ELLIS WOOD, DAVID DORFMAN TO PREMIERE DANCE PIECES

PHOENIX - Movement Source Dance Company, in collaboration with Foot Klan Entertainment, present "Creative Connections," a multi-media dance event on Saturday, May 12, with shows at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, 7380 E Second Street in Scottsdale.

The event will be a season finale for Movement Source and will include guest and collaborative pieces with Foot Klan Entertainment. Additionally, guest New York choreographers Ellis Wood and David Dorfman will present premiered dance works performed by Movement Source. The evening will blend dance styles and various art forms, including live music and video integrated with dance. American Sign Language (ASL) will be provided during the performance.

General Admission tickets are $18, $15 for students and seniors, or $10 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts Box Office, or by calling 994-ARTS (2787).

Movement Source is a multi-media modern dance company in its 19th season, which is dedicated to incorporating art forms and creating new, innovative work each season. It's a network of professional dancers taking dance into the community through educational outreach programs and performing in traditional and non-traditional sites.

The company brings in choreographers from around the world to set dances with a cutting edge each season. Movement Source is committed to integrating ASL into dances and interpreting all major performances. The company finds the beauty of ASL a contribution to dance movement.

Foot Klan has been entertaining audiences worldwide for more than 16 years, with members dancing weekly on national television and at concerts, special events, sports venues, trade shows and more. They have entertained clients and buyers at the MAGIC International Fashion Show in Las Vegas twice annually for more than 10 years, and performed at major corporate shows and with top entertainers around the world. Foot Klan Entertainment collaborates with dance, gymnastics and martial arts studios across Phoenix and also includes a large youth teaching and training component, including the newly formed Foot Klan Junior All-Stars. The group, which works closely with the "Father of Hip Hop" DJ Kool Herc and retains the prestigious title of "Herculoids," is lead by Mr. and Miss Soul Train Darryl Khalid and Luciana Bell and World B-Boy Champion Kasiem Khalid.
