March 20, 2007

Phoenix - Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, located at 21001 N. Tatum Blvd., in the Desert Ridge Shopping Center will host its 11th Annual Fire Chief Ale promotion from Wednesday, March 14, to April 1, 2007, including a firefighter bachelor auction March 29. During this promotional period, Rock Bottom will offer a limited time offer (LTO) Firehouse menu that enables guests to customize their meal by choosing an appetizer, entree and dessert for a single price of $17.99. Rock Bottom will also tap its traditional Fire Chief Ale specialty brew that will remain on-tap throughout the promotion. As in previous years, Rock Bottom will donate $.25 of every pint sold to The United Phoenix Firefighter Charities.

"Fire Chief is amazing on many levels. It's our flagship promotion and one that everyone in the community embraces. In addition, it's a great illustration of our genuine commitment to giving locally," explained Senior Managing Partner Matt Verde, General Manager Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery.

According to Marilyn Davenport, Director of Marketing and Corporate PR, during its inaugural year the promotion generated approximately $12,000. In more recent years the average total for donations during the promotion surpasses the $100,000. Total donations attributed to Fire Chief are just under one million dollars.

"In our 11 years of Fire Chief we've managed to raise nearly a million dollars for charity while maintaining some pretty amazing relationships with our local fire fighting heroes across the country," said Davenport.

Rock Bottom will also host the following events in conjunction with Fire Chief Ale:

  • Thursday, March 29 at 9 p.m. Rock Bottom Desert Ridge will host its white hot Firefighter Bachelor Auction which will be hosted by KMLE Country's own Shappy.
  • Local firefighters will be auctioned off to the highest bidder
  • Chance to Win Keith Urban and Country Thunder Tickets
  • Live and Silent Auction

Fire Chief Ale is a Red Ale with an assertive hops character and subtle hints of caramel and chocolate. It is one of the many specialty brews created throughout the year by Brewmaster Brian Helton.
